which do I choose run or save?

please don't laugh as this might seem a daft question to some but if I download IE9

should I run or save the program?

does it make any difference which one please &

also will IE8 be removed when IE9 is installed?

Yes IE8 will be gone, but not forgotten.

am running vista 32 so will be ok

just didn't know about run or save as ie8 was already on pc at start & I know when I save other downloads I can chose where to put them
will take checkpoint and see how it goes

I usually save any download first for 2 reasons. I can then scan any downloads for nasties although my anti-virus suite does do this as it downloads so that is a but OTT. But the second reason is that if I have to uninstall and re-install I don't have to download again.

your last response made me laugh
I downloaded and chose 'run'
on reboot I found that my calendar gadget had turn blank & orange; I shutdown and rebooted and all was ok calendar now working
all else seems fine so will now see whats different about ie9
