Which do I believe?

I've just built a new system and have a dilema.

DigiDoc as supplied with the MB reports a CPU temp of 66 deg C. SiSoft Sandra reports CPU temp 38 deg C. The machine is an athlon 2400 running UD 24/7. I realise that if the machine is still running then there is no real problem, but it would be nice to know which measurement to believe. Any ideas please.

Thanks

most temperature monitoring software is not very accurate.

go by the bios hardware monitor temps.

Sandra is known to tell the odd fib now and then!, not sure of DigiDoc, but if supplied as part of motherboard software, then that's the one I would go for. 66 is a little high for XP 2400, but not too high for worry in this hot weather. AMD are happy for their CPU's to run in the region of 60c, and their only concern is that you do not exceed the Max. temp. of 90c. j.

Thanks. The BIOS shows CPU 64 system 38. EIther way no problem.

Thanks again.
