not used norton windows xp defrag is ok if you have an earlier o/s then you may want to try this as well diskeeper lite very good

I used norton on ME and found it was very good. Having said that Diskeeper may well be better - haven't tried it.

Windows XP-Pro seems to use a variant of Diskeeper, (at least is looks similar).

How does the XP version compare with the authentic Diskeeper?.

I have the full version of Diskeeper (Version 7). I would say that it is at least 2-3 times faster than the Windows XP defragger (even though, as you say, that is based on Diskeeper).
