which cd-rw

Hi, I am going to get a new cd-rw today as my old one seems to have given up the ghost at last. It has to be today as I need it for tonight (dont these things always go wrong when you least need it!) looks like Ive got the choice of 2:
Sony CDRW 52X24X52 £49.95
Artec WRR 52X24X52 £42.99
Can anybody tell me why the difference in price? Is it purely because Sony is a more well known name, would there be any difference in performance if I plumped for Artec?

The Artec is a good CD/RW. We use them all the time in our newly built computers. And, yes you are paying for the name (Sony)

I know this topic is closed but the best (if money is no object) are made by Plextor.
However PC World have an offer on the TDK Cyclone which received favourable reviews in the press, not least for it's speed, selling for £59.99 including a pack of CD's.
