Which Anti-Virus?

I've used Bullguard for almost three years, only because it came bundled with my machine when I bought it. On a previous computer I had Avast, when it was in its infancy. It now seems to have gone from the proverbial strength to strength!
I'm quite willing to fork out again, however the reviews I now read for Avast, seem to be saying that it's superior to anything, paid for or free, out there. Can anyone advise?

i personally (which av is a matter of preference) use avast and have been trouble free for a very long time.

However, the best, for many years, has been NOD32 - free trial at click here

Also a full security suite too - eset security suite.

For freebies then Avast home edition. Firewall then Comodo. If home PC then can't see a reason to pay for protection.

Thanks all, I know NOD32 is highly rated, but I'mdrawn to Avast more and more.

I can tell you that for certain NOD32 uses substantially less system resource than Avast - I've used both on clients systems, and can certainly tell the difference.

Thanks DieSse, on a fiscal note...what's it cost?

And NOD32 has been shown to be much better at detecting unknown viruses in tests.

OK. Try Avast for three months (as it's free) then try NOD for 12 months as it's not free. You'll only get a free trial for 30 days with nod.

See how you get on.

What if I just tried the NOD free trial, then Avast, both for the same time period?

That's as fair as you can go...;-)
