Which adware software should I use?

I currently use Spybot on my Win XP Home PC regularly and have had no problems with it.
However having done an online scan by Webroot I have lots adware cookies and stuff even though spybot doesnt seem to pick it up. My current risk is between moderate and dangerous. Only had this PC a few months and am not a big lover of Kazaa etc etc.
I am thinking maybe it is best for me to change which adware/spyware software I use. Can anyone give me suggestions?

Also, do these freebie softwares all work well? I mean it would make sense that one you paid for would be better at eliminating all the baddies on your pc.

Two good suggestions by obbit. SpywareBlaster usually catches it before it 'hits' your computer, and AdAware cleans the remnants up afterwards.Spybot is going through at change at present, with a new beta version available, that is why there have been no new downloads for the older version.
