Where's DMA Gone?

just re-installed win98, and now I don't have any option to use DMA on the hard drives, ony on the CD roms. There is now a greyed out option that says "Int 13 unit" in it's place. Two other boxes that I don't remember are " Disconnect" and "Sync data transfer". These 2 are both selected. My HDDs are both IDE. How do I get DMA back?
Thanks

Open control panel - system applet. Go to the device manager tab. Click on hard-disk controllers and press properties.

Check the Dma-enabled box. Restart

It's in the device manager that the option has disappeared.
