Where does Outlook keep email?

MY copy of Windows sort of died - that and I sort of killed it :) - so I installed Windows on a 2nd drive. I am hoping to recover my emails since Outlook was on the drive with Windows and should be untouched.

OS is XP SP2 and Office 2000 if it makes any difference.

You should be able to use the import feature to bring your emails back into the new installation.
You should use the Import mail - cantacts - settings selection.

Thats what I am lookign for - the file path - but I do not have a 'local setting' folder. Any other Ideas?

Do a search for *.pst. Your Outlook messages will be in that file - usually Outlook.pst. G

Also make sure "Show Hidden Files And Folders" is ticked in Explorer-Tools.

You may have problems if the Outlook file was in an Admin account on your old HDD.

The file will be hidden. You need to go to My computer tools/folder options/view, click on show hidden files & folders.

Then go to C:\(or the old drive letter)Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
