Where are my colours?

My display screen only shows black and blue colours (Windows Me).

Any ideas why this might be?

The monitor cable plug or socket may have a bent pin. If you've had it off. What is it Crt or what?

I have just checked the monitor plug which has 14 pin. Should that be 15, as there appers to be a hole for an extra pin???

No that does not matter. What kind of monitor is it? a Crt or Lcd. If it's a Crt it may need degauss button pressing. But if it's a old Monitor it may just have developed a fault in one of the colour guns the red goes first normally. Don't ask Why

PS there are controls on the monitor have you changed any at all?

PS also it may be the Graphics card that's gone you can check the monitor on another PC

It is an older monitor. I do have a spare one,so shall try that.
