When I run SonicStage Omgjbox.exe Close. HELP

  SARAH090182 00:25 22 Mar 08

When I run SonicStage, the following error message appears (Microsoft Windows XP SP 2): Omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have no idea what to do as this stops me from using my player.
Everything I read is so damn technical!

Which version of SonicStage are you using?

Do you know the Firmware Number or your NW-A3000,

i.e. 1.00, 2.00, or 3.00

As according to Sony click here You need Firmware Version 3.00, But you cannot get it from Sony UK's Website (Just tried).

I have found a Version of the Firmware on click here, But I don't know if it would work with your machine.

You could ring Sony UK to see if it would work, or where to get the Firmware upgrade from,

Go to start menu/run, type

Go to startup tab - untick anything to do with Sony or the software (some of the names will be cryptic, leave anything you're not sure of ticked, you can do the same and untick more if the following steps dont help first time).

Click OK and accept changes, reboot.

Once back into Windows, press Ctrl-Alt-Del for Task Manager, find the ombgjbox.exe if it's running, right click and kill the process. Now download/install the software linked to previously. It may also be worth disconnecting from the net and temporarily disabling your antivirus software before installation.
