Ok, looking at click here= at the following 2 SATA II HDD's

SATA HDD No.1 160GB Seagate Barracuda 9 SATA-2 7200 rpm 8MB NCQ. CODE: ST3160810AS £53.45

SATA HDD No.2 160GB Seagate Barracuda 9 SATA-2 7200 rpm 8MB NCQ. CODE: ST3160812AS £57.29

I have also looked at Seagate click here

Nothing stands out, doesn anyone happen to know the difference apart for the cost in these two SATA II HDD's please. Maybe one is newer than the other but which.

According to Seagate specs the later ST3160812AS
meets all current and proposed environmental standards. It also appears to have later inbuilt recognition for processors using hyperthreading.

I really can't see a lot else different but I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure how you got this info but I take your word is sound advice.

I have a feeling the 12AS Model No ending is the newer revision also based on the price but not %100 sure.

Will leave post open till tongiht.
