if you buy a computer with XP home on, and no disc can you tell if it is a full copy, or an OEM.

further to above, it has the key number sticker on the side with the key.
can iuse my XP disc and when asked type in that number,my XP disc is an OEM and i don't know
what this computer system is

You can use any XP installation disc as long as its the same variety ie Home or Pro to do a fresh install. If its a repair then you need to have the same variety and the same SP, or newer, on the disc for it to work.

You cannot use a recovery disc, like some Dell or HP ones, unless the PC is exactly the same.

It should say on the sticker what the OS is.
