neither with the amount of memory you have, with only 256Mb your ststems are going to struggle regardless of the other hardware features..

between an apple and an orange? I like apples but then others might like oranges.

Are you looking to rid yourself of one and keep the other??

You can boost the desktop by adding more RAM and a decent gfx card, maybe CPU but I'm not knowledgable on Intel chips.

The laptop, more RAM and that's it.

So in potential terms I'd say the desktop.

ok ill upgrade the ram but is the laptop graphics card any good becuase in the specifactions it says it can go up to 128m graphics

  FelixTCat 19:10 20 Jul 06

The GeForce MX 420 is a very old graphics card and will not play any modern games. You will need to spend about £120 to get a reasonable games-compatible card

  Shutt1e 19:11 20 Jul 06

ok but is the aptop graphics good cause it says that it can go up to 128 mb graphics

  FelixTCat 19:11 20 Jul 06

I should have added: The laptop graphics chip will not play any games at all

  SG Atlantis® 19:12 20 Jul 06

Onboard, it'll cope with most use...

Wouldn't play the latest games at a decent rate.

You can allocate more system memory to the graphics which make graphics a bit better. But then you're taking it away from the system...

Get it upto at least 512mb. That will leave you with 512mb - 128mb graphics = 384mb for the system.
