What is uehuupdm.exe

  LaurenceCook1 18:11 11 Dec 06

Having just installed NIS 2006, I got the message that uehuupdm.exe was tryning to access the Web and was a known source of malware. It is blocked by NIS 2006.

What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Have you typed uehuupdm.exe correctly,i have just Googled, tried Microsoft and Symantec and none of them show anything related to this at all.

Possibly a false positive.

Malicious software usually generates names made of random letters for its executable files. If the file is located in Windows or Windows\system32 it may be a bad'un.
Scan with one of these; click here
AVG Antispyware is very thorough, Norton may complain if you install Spybot 1.4 - apparently the two are incompatible.

Many thanks for the responses. The file name is correct as appears on the PC. I searched for it, and found it in Windows directory, but was unable to delete it since I assume it was running.

I don't really want to load any more anti spyware applications as you have a free scan then have to pay for the removal. If I start in safe mode, and delete it, will it go away or do I need to clean out the registry?

Assuming NIS does not remove it of course!

If you cannot delete it (even in Safe Mode) try Unlocker click here

avg spyware is compatible with nis 06 but not '07

Also turn off System Restore as it will be in there as well ....
