What type of memory

I have a couple of pc`s with mobos 2years old and I`m confused with the type of memory cards
The socket I want to add memory to has 168 pins with only one cut-out.I have been lookin around but can`t be sure which one will suit.
At the moment I have 2 x 256mb sticks and my manuak states it will take PC133 but some of the PC133 `s that i`ve seen seem to be too high spec.
Should I be looking for DDR, SDRAM, DIM or what. The 256 stick has a label PC256.
