What is a trojan attack please?

  Halmer 08:16 02 Jul 05

I was looking at the Manchester United website when I received 2 warnings from AVG that I was being attacked by a trojan (or something to that effect). It gave me the option to heal or delete the trojans. I healed them and deleted them later.

What is happening when this happens?

Does it mean that the Manchester United web site is dodgy?

Does it mean that my firewall is no good?

Never had this in 5 years of surfing!

Any particular page on the site, Halmer?

I've had a quick look and I don't get any warnings.

Did AVG give the names of the trojans?

If I recall it was as soon as I went into their home site but I've done it again since and nothing happened.

I've got rid of them so I don't think that I can tell you the names sorry.

I had an email from ALEX FERGUSON this afternoon. The wife was online at the time and luckily queried it with me. It was deleted without opening but AVG didnt even blink. Could the 2 incidents be linked possibly ? Your thoughts ?
