What speed memory for gaming in Vista?

I'm currently running Vista 32bit with a 7900gtx graphics card and 3gb dual channel pc2-5300 667mhz memory and do a fair bit of gaming.
Would upgrading the memory to pc2-6400 800mhz or even pc2-8500 1066mhz make any noticable difference in gaming performance?
Thanks

are you sure the laptop can take that upgrade?

It's a desktop.

The 3gb memory you have is fine for gaming and vista.
Even top end games only require 2bg ram max so your ram speed is not relative to increased performance.
The bottleneck will be your graphics card.
rossgolf...Have i missed something,where's the laptop reference?
