What Should I Use To Eliminate IE 6 Virus

  andywg 12:04 21 May 04

I am trying to eliminate what I think is a virus from a friend's PC, when he's online the msg:

SYSTEM SHUTDOWN losing saved work etc comes up followed by THIS SHUTDOWN WAS INITIATED BY NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. Then at the bottom it says:

system process 'C\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectidly with status code - 1073741819. The system will now shutdown and restart. As with a virus I had it then counts down and reboots.

I tried A/V Software, Fixblast for W32 worm and Stinger but it is still doing the same thing!

He is running Win XP Home Ed

What can I use to erradicate this thing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks for those suggestions, will try both these out.

Any other advice is still welcome though.

Thanks again.
