  pcbobby 09:09 05 Mar 09

OS XP Home sp2

Just bought a bare bones system and installed most drives from my old PC.

When I open ‘My Computer’, I find that in addition the usual drives. Hard Drive, Floppy. CD ROM and CD RW. I also have, Removable Disk G !!

When I insert a USB flash pen, it becomes Removable Disk F.

How do I remove this G drive ?

Thank you

Just a question, is your printer connected? That could be your extra drive.

Hello rawprawn.

You cracked it!
It is the printer!!

Shall I leave it as it is, or can I do anything so that it does not show up as a drive?

Just try turning the printer off. No Printer, No Drive!

Hi audeal.

It is only when I remove the printer USB cable, will the drive not appear.

Does the printer have a Camera card slot?

  pcbobby 09:47 05 Mar 09

Hi bremner,
Yes, it is a Epson SX400

It is the card reader that is being shown as a drive.

If it is annoying and interferes with other drives you could go to disk management and assign it a drive letter such as X, Y or Z.

Sounds like you printer as a Card Reader built in

Hi bremner, woodchip.

Bit of a mystery to me! With the old PC, it did not appear as a drive.

I notice that under 'Scanners and camera's' in MY Computer, the Epson is listed
