Every so often on shutting down PC I get a box stating that a programme is not responding and is being closed down. I have no idea what it is and have finally managed to get a picture of it on my camera. Can anyone tell me if it is a legitimate one please

Try typing it in full into Google and see if anything comes up.

Looks as if it could be malware, I would advise you to run all your Anti-Malware programs as a precaution.

Thanks for the replies I did try google but nothing came up. I do run my Norton - avg -adaware and aol spyware etc regularly.
It does not come up all the time so maybe it is coming from the web.

Try a search on your computer for that text string - see what it finds.

Try a search in your registry for that text string - see what it finds.

Post results please.

Can you get a picture of in without the curser in the way,(!!) or go TO Task Manager and get its full name from there?

Re.(Can you get a picture of in without the curser in the way,(!!))

Will try to get it next time around. thing is its intermittent. had to use camera on movie clip to get it as the shutter lag was too slow :(
then extract the pics from the clip.

would not go amis to run the malawarebytes program too;
instructions are on this page just above the green download tab click here

its a pretty effective program at trawling for all kinds of rubbish; try it and superantispyware; superantispyware should be run in computer safe mode and malawarebytes in computer normal mode and, to state the hopefully obvious , run while you are OFF line :))

which is your installed antivirus program as you mention both Norton ( shudder to think of it ) and AVG?

"...how do I search the registry please"

Start - Run - type regedit into the box and press OK.

The registry editor starts.

Go to Edit - Find - type the text string into the box and click Find

If it finds something, make a note of what it finds - all the details please - and post them here.

Then press F3 to search further - keep repeating and noting what it finds - if anything.
