What plays a USA DVD ?

What do I look for when buying a DVD player to play USA DVDs ? (Region 1 DVDs)

Do I need a multi-region DVD player ?
Do I also have to ensure that the multi-region DVD player plays NTSC format, or is that purely to do with the TV itself ?

Thanks.

Do I need a multi-region DVD player ? Yes, or at the very elast a Region 1 DVD player.

Do I also have to ensure that the multi-region DVD player plays NTSC format, or is that purely to do with the TV itself? That's down to the TV.

Or if you want to do it on the cheap click here
Comments on the internet that it played multi region out of the box have proved correct.
Make no mistake it's definitely a budget player with a flip top instead of a power tray and limited connectivity for peripherals. Only had it for a couple of days, but so far no complaints it works fine.

Belatucadrus's suggestion is liekly to be the cheapest solution you will find!

There aren't many region 0 players around (i thought there was an agreement not to sell them in this country?).

Is a useful site, many DVD players can be region hacked quite safely using the handset others are much harder.
This is the only kind of hack link I'll ever post.

We got a very cheap Tesco Value one (£15) a couple of years ago and used a hack to enable all regions. Works fine

Got mine from the local branch, they had piles of them at the same price.
