Can anybody advise me which mb to buy for a xp2000 and a agp8 graphics card

  Mysticnas 14:16 07 Jan 04

at Gigabyte boards, they are generally very good!!!

i'm on my second.

i like the asus a7n8x deluxe. it was my first mobo that i got for my first home built pc, i havn't had any probs yet. you could probably get one for 80 or 90 quid, and has pretty much all you need. also as mysticnas said the giabyte boards are also good.

I found the ASUS A7V8X-X very good for this processor and AGP8. It is a good value for money board, and easy to set up. click here

I own the MSI KT4AV and was recently built. Cost about 40 - 50, i have a 2800 processor in it so a 2000 should be no problem. Also had no problem with it since.

intel or amd processor?
if you intend to overclock, then msi, gigabyte and asus are the leaders here.

  Rennaissance 17:37 07 Jan 04

choffe it is obviously AMD. hence the XP2000. No offence. Yes you are right, those are the leaders. But even if you're not looking at overclocking those still would be pretty good.

Thanks guys certainly a few to look at I was interested in the overclocking as my present prossesor is overclocked to 2200 using honeyx bios

go for gigabyte. they have duel bios, so any bios updating is safe, as you have a backup. also can overclock in the bios or in windows with gigabytes own utility (easytune 4) which is great for testing your system before actually tampering with the bios.
