What firewall rules to give svchost.exe

  Sturmey 17:15 12 Jan 04

Sygate firewall thrugh up a prompt saying svchost.exe needs to connect to the internet, I gave it permission and created a rule to always allow.

What's the correct permissions to give svchost?

I did a scan with sophos and my system is clean.

I use Sygate and i've blocked it with no ill effect.

I've blocked it now too, doesn't seem to have any effect. In sygate connection details i can see that is trying to make 15 connections which are being blocked to ip addresses 192.168.*.*, and my wan ip.

192.168.*.*, is my PC so thats ok no need to block them.

I might create a rule that allows it to connect to ip's on my network rather than block it altogether.
