Hi all

Have recently upgraded to broadband.

Two green arrows are showing 288/2272

Is this my actual upload and download speeds as i have done a few speed tests but have got nowhere near the downlaod speed or the upload speed.

Thanks

Lahorie

228 is kbps upload speed (From your pc)

2272 is kbps download speed (To your pc)

On dialup you would have been at about 56 kbps

kbps = kiolobits per second

Hope this helps.

Hi...my own connection shows that.Exactly the same values.It is the speed at which the adsl connection through your phone line will run, upload/download in Kb/s.The speed you actually connect at is governed by your ISP,for example I have AOL Broadband Gold which connects at 1Mb/s.The line itself is capable of a 2Mb/s connection as shown by the green arrows.It means I can upgrade to a 2Mb/s account when funds permit ;o)

To check what speed you are actually connecting at try the this at ADSL guide click here

Pressed enter too soon.

The speed done on tests will vary depending on time of day,amount of internet traffic and condition of your phone line etc.

Your tests will be accurate,not sure about the arrows.

Here is what I think is the most accurate test if you don't already have it.click here

Don't know what the figures signify but have a look at this click here

I have used the link posted by €dstowe which I have found very useful.
