What does CCAPP.EXE do?

I am running XP+SP2 with Norton Internet Security
Everytime I close down XP, just before it should switch off, I get a lot of A drive activity and then a box saying that CCAPP.EXE is not responding.

If there is a disc in tha A drive I have no problems.

Common Client Application ( I think ) and belongs to Norton AntiVirus. It runs auto-protect and email checking facilities.
