Can someone explain what booktype is. When I burn DVD+ a small checkbox appears allowing me to select booktype, but not with DVD-, Searched the web but no real explanations.

Basically the same as crx1600's answer but I found this on another forum:

Some burners (Liteon, NEC and Ricoh) can change the booktype of a DVD+ to DVD ROM booktype. This is the same as a commercial DVD.

It means it will allow a DVD player that doesn't play DVD+ to play it as it thinks it is a commercial DVD.

A DVD+RW can be changed after burning but a +R needs to be done prior to finalising.
