What is the App that finds the registration number

A friend has just emailed me with a problem.

He has a computer preloaded with Win XP, No CDs.

He says since switching to Broadband and registering for MS updates he keeps getting a message "i signed up for automatic updates, now windows is asking me to register windows ,i have 27 days to do so."

He says he doesn't have a registration code. I am sure he must have one somewhere? I haven't been able to contact him yet to get more info as he is a "worker"

I have seen a couple of threads which gives a download of an application that will find all registration codes.

I don't have XP myself but Win 98SE and I do know my registration as it is on a sticker on the back of my computer and also on the CD cover that my Win 98SE CD is in.

Thanks guys. Downloaded both.

Will give them a try on my computer.

Will call my friend tonight. Let you know how we do.

That bit all done. Thanks. Now, is there a special MS site to activate XP and if so, the URL please, or phone number maybe?

Thanks all. Have emailed him all that info and told him to ring me if he has a problem.

So far no phone call so assume everything is going to plan.

Will tick now and thanks again.
