Every time i turn my laptop on i get this message : Windows has blocked SSBkgdUpdate , what is this and what should i do ?

This page explains what it is click here It may be that Windows Firewall needs to be configured to allow this 'updater' to access the internet when the PC boots.

that file is associated to Scansoft (Printer/Scanner software)

Its just trying to update but i imagine its Windows Defender that is blocking it.

If you do not want it to try to check for updates when Windows starts up and you can remove the entry from startup

XP - Start -> run -> type in: msconfig -> Startup Tab -> take tick out of the line that will say SSBkgdUpdate.exe -> Apply and Ok -> Reboot

Vista/Win7 - Start -> type in: msconfig -> Startup Tab -> take tick out of the line that will say SSBkgdUpdate.exe -> Apply and OK -> Reboot
