Went to sort out my C drive

Hi,I decided to sort out my C drive,So this is what I did.Moved all my Documents to an external hdd,Also moved my Pictures,& video's. My music is on another internal drive. My total documents came to 40GB.My Pictures Came to 37.1GB.My Video's came to 8.36GB Totaling to 85.46GB I transfered them into their proper folders,Docs > Dodcs,Pic >Pic.Etc. Now went to look at my C drive and it was showing a lot more than I had.I know the windows takes so many GB's also program files,But this amount was way out.I have a 500GB hdd and at the end of all this drastic work it shows that there is only 180GB's free. That dont tally up in my mathematics so I installed the 'Treesize free' so I could see what was going on. But not very techy I dont quite understand the end product of the treesize software. Can someone please assist me with this problem. Running windows 7.I'm the only user. Find the image of the treesize to see hoping that I can have help to get this out of my head.half way through the operation we had a power cut that didn't help the situation Many thanks in advance. Expand users as that is where all the space is being used according to your image of Tree size.

Your image shows Users, the first in the Tree size list as using most of your HDD space so have look at what is in there. Start Tree size then click on the arrow beside Users post the image here.

Well you sort of did it but I am trying to see what is taking up the space and as you can now see it is the Windows 7 folder so we need to have a look there.

I have just install Tree Size free so I can see what you are seeing. My image.

I was hoping to see another image after you clicked on the arrow next to the Windows 7 folder.

Looks like you managed to copy the whole of your drive and then place it under windows in the user folder.

I will leave Chronus to advise you further as I'm not an experienced W7 user but I personally would be deleting the

252,355.5MB windows 7 folder

provided I was sure I had everything I need baked up to external drive first.

That image clearly shows you have 120 GB of pictures and 77GB's in your Documents folder. Now a lot of the stuff in the Documents folder will be related to various programs you have installed but the pictures are another matter.

So I would look there first and if you have definitely copied them then delete everything in the folder. I had a mate that managed to copy his contents of his My pictures folder nearly around ten times but all the copies were in the first folder.
