"Welcome to Windows" gone

the "welcome to windows" screen has vanished and in it's place i get a black screen with a log-on box i have never seen before. any ideas?

Do you have a file called "logo.sys" in your Windows/System folder?

what windows version are you running?

You can try downloading 'fresh ui' from any site (try ask jeeves or another search engine) It will allow you to alter your start-up (splash screen (which is what the screen is called)),settings either back to windows defalt or custom

No I can't find "logo/sys" and am running XP Home
