Weird error messages

  Beba 19:14 10 Jun 05

Please help (and excuse my lack of techie knowledge) When I start up my computer, and it connects to the internet, I get about 20 error messages in a row which all say the same thing: something about Windows closing Generic Host Services Win32. Also, when I open up My Computer, it takes about 1 minute to display the files, and this "torch" icon shows instead. This started happening after I connected to an internal file-sharing network - but Symantec, Ad-Aware and Spybot all report nothing sinister on my computer. I've deleted all the files I downloaded but nothing has changed. Has anyone got any ideas?
