WebCam / Netmeeting - O/S Windows XP

Just bought a Logitech Messenger WebCam, loaded software and plugged in.

Works great for short video messages to send in attachments however I have problem using it with Netmeeting for Web Video conferencing - sometimes I can only see people but they can't see me !

Is this an XP issue i.e. Can I only XP Users be seen by each other or have I missed something in the set up ?

Have you checked to see if any firewall is set which could block it?

No, I have not tried to do anything with the fire wall.

I presume that there are different levels of protection that I can pick so that I am still safe from viruses etc ?

It depends on which firewall you are using. Normally there is a setting to allow access to a certain program (i.e., netmeeting).

If you have a look in your firewall software to see about access settings for programs.

i don't know if this helps, it worked for me.

if the person you want to see is not on XP, they have to ask you if you want a to start "video", ie: 98 to ask XP (NOT XP to ask 98).
