Webcam memory dump.

I have had a Trust 120 Spacecam for over a year, when i went to install it again today it caused a memory dump. I install the driver first, shutdown then plug the cam into the USB slot, turn pc back on, windows starts ok, it says its found the cam then the screen goes black then the blue screen showing the memory dump starts.

Whats gone wrong?

Can you find a newer driver? Could be that a MS update is incompatible.

Try another USB slot.

As i have a usb hub i was plugging it in there, tried a usb slot on the mobo along with updated driver and it works like a dream. Thanks guys.

on another note, i have several SVCHOST processes running, ive been told they are other users invading my pc, is this true?

Re. another note:

I doubt it :-)

But there is no harm in taking a look at some of the anti-spyware programs that are available and running some of them if you are not already doing so.

What form of security do you use?
