Web site user ID's and passwords

Can someone tell me please where 'User ID's' and 'passwords' for web sites I have subscribed to are stored on my computer (XP Pro)when I tick the 'save password' box on the pop up box.

They are saved as cookie files which can be found in C documents and settings

I have deleted all the cookie files so they must be stored somewhere else.

If you have deleted your cookies then the next time you log on to a site where you have saved passwords eg. PC Advisor you will be asked to input your ID and password again. If you don't get asked eg. Tesco then your details are stored on the site. When I clear my cookies the only site that asks for ID and Password is PC Advisor so all my other saved data must be on the particular site.

I'm not referring to the passwords you enter onto a web page but the pop up box that comes up when clicking to enter certain membership sites that asks for user ID and password.
