web pages freeze

  NOVICE ENABLED 23:50 18 Feb 04

When I try to access certain web pages, the page to be opened just seems to stop dead. I get the mouse pointer/sand timer, but no movement in the progress bar. The page seems to overlap it's self before freezing. This happens more often with the small windows/pages used to display enlarged images or further details (dialog windows?).

I'm on AOL 8, but they say it's nothing to do with them as I've tried all their suggestions. I'm using Windows XP home.

Please, help me someone!

try starting Aol then start Internet Explorer and try Webb pages through that

It didn't make any difference.

Thanks woodchip, I've since found the solution.

Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll succeeded" message, click OK
