Hi guys.

My niece has clicked on a link on her nan's XP home PC that was sent to her via Windows Live Messenger 8.0 (MSN) and seems to have let in a virus. She also sent it on to some of her friends and they all seem to be complaining of the same thing. I have been to the home page in the link and it seems to be dead now. I haven't been round there yet to see the damage for myself but what sort of thing am i likely to come across? Is this a popular way of getting virus' out and abut and how can we protect ourselves from this type of hyperlink attack?

The message read:

No thankyou !

Been down this route before.Similar thing happened at christmas with a forum member posting a link that contained a virus, though AVG dealt with this.

Think you will have to run the normal apps to rid the system of the virus click here
