AMD Ryzen release date, specifications and features: Three CPUs from the Ryzen 7 range now…
There is a very nasty new email worm spreading rapidly. This Mimail variant
arrives as both a zip and a plain screen saver. As always, do not open
these! Delete them immediately.
Some of the emails have text like this:
The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent
as a binary attachment.
The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary
You should update The Cleaner definitions via MooLive or at
It is also being called: MiMail.R, Mydoom, Shimg, and Novarg but they are
all the same.

just a thought
sorry for butting into your thread,
today i have recieved a few e-mails with the body
The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment.
i downloaded (but did not open) the attachment and then checked with AVG, it found the worm
Please everyone be careful not to infect your system with this virus.
I really don't know the answer to your question but I have Sygate Firewall installed and AVG.
Looking at the Sygate logs I see it has been blocking attempts by this worm about every 15 minutes. I received one e-mail which somehow slipped through the filter from what appeared to be a legitimate company. I didn't open it but right clicked to open properties and read that AVG had found a virus in the attachment. I promptly deleted the whole thing. I think if it hadn't been for the fact that I was aware that there is a nasty worm going the rounds I might easily have opened this particular e-mail. As paperman27 says be very careful indeed

Eastender Good one thanks for that info. Regards Noels
I have had a couple of suspicious mails today, which I haven't opened but I have also had two returned mails which I haven't sent!!
One of them says...(I have changed my e-mail address to MYADDRESS but my name isn't James!!)
I have checked to see if I have this virus but the one I used from the Symantec site says I haven't got it - so why the returned mails? I also don't know the email address this returned mail came from
