Warning in Event Viewer

  isca2 19:50 09 Jul 08

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation.

Am seeing the above as a warning in Event Viewer under System, but have not noticed any problems with pc. I do not have a hardisk D, only the C drive so I am confused. The resultant page from Microsoft is of no help. Anyone know what it means in simple English ?

Have you a hidden System Restore partition?

Not that I know of. Drive D is one of my DVD Rom drives. How do I check for a hidden System Restore partition ?

I dont bother looking in event viewer as it makes you worry about nothing.

Hardisk1 relates to your 2nd disk.
Harddisk0 is the first disk which is the boot disk.
Its probably a caching error when reading/writing a CD or DVD.

The Event Viewer usually contains quite a few "error" messages but, as you have discovered, no problems arise.

Thanks all. I agree with you all about looking. I shall resolve not to bother looking at the error log unless the pc does not work properly. As citadel says, you start to worry about nothing !
