Start Quick Time

Edit/Preferences/Quick Time preferences

Untick Quick Time System Tray Icon.

Start -> run. Type msconfig on the box -> ok ->startup Tab.

In the Startup column, make sure that the box next to qttask is unchecked.

Quicktime has an annoying habit of putting itself into your systray at start up everytime you use it. I try not to use it if I can avoid it, but in some cases it's the only option.

For example, if you want to see a preview of the new Everquest2 characters click here you have to use Quicktime.

On the Quicktime (apple) site, there is a resolve for a similar error msg with QT 6.5 using XP or windows 2000.

Try this:

Open QuickTime Player.

From the File menu, choose Open Recent, then choose Clear Menu.
