Hi . I have Me installed on my p.c at the mo and would like to reformat H/D and install win98. I no longer have Me disk due to dog, only 98. I don't have a 98 boot disk, only Me! Will it work or will I have to get a 98 boot disk off another p.c.?

System is PC 841 mobo with xp2000, seagate 40gig barra'All fine except silly errors and too much junk.

I'm pretty sure the ME one will work but you can easily download a 98 one eg:

Alternatively you can format and reinstall ME by copying your Windows/Options folder to a CD and running setup from there.

How would I do that?

All you have to do it boot from c\drom in the bios. Put your 98 disk in and start up. You can format, fdisk and install from this.

You do not necessarily need a boot disk.

What I said. If your Options folder is still intact, copy it to a CDR[making a note of the exact filepath of setup.exe - I believe it's in the install folder]. Then boot up to a dos prompt with the startup disk, format the drive, then navigate to the CDR,run setup and away you go.

Thanks. Errrrrr...I'll have to wait until I know a little bit more about my p.c. before I try that. Thanks all the same.
