Want to connect laptop to roomie's wireless

I have recently moved in with someone and want to know if I can just use her network security key to use her wireless modem without having to install another landline, etc., etc. I have my own modem from another city where I moved from, but I can't transfer the service without paying a bundle, and I plan to be living here for only a couple of months. Is there anything wrong with doing that?

Thank you!!'

Thanks for your response; I had DSL before I moved; is there anything I need to do to my laptop in order to go wireless? Will it cost my roommate extra $$ on her bill?

You can get a wireless USB adaptor and link up to it that way.
It may affect your roomies bill if:

she pays for limited download bandwidth and
your usage tips her over that limit (per payment period) and
She gets charged for gong over her limit

Only she will be able to say what package she is on....

Neither one of us know a whole lot about technology; I just want to be fully informed when I ask her.

Drawback:
If you are both sharing the same connection then the overall connection speed may slow down for one or both of you

Just want to let you know I hooked up with no problem, so far so good. Thank you for your assistance!!
