hi after installing problems with wanadoo modem
after third modem i have finally got it connected but it seems to be slow it is my daughters pc it is a usb1 port that the modem is using would a powered hub speed things up the other usb port has an epson printer pluged into it thanks chippy

Hi chippy+. A USB1 port should be plenty fast enough, and if the port is providing sufficient power you shouldn't need a powered hub. Check your connection speed with the speed tester at ADSLguide click here. Remember that the speed rating you are given by your ISP is the maximum. You will get a slower download speed if other users are sharing the line - if the contention ratio is 50:1 you could have your speed reduced by 50 times at peak periods. The download speed is also affected by the site you are downloading from, so if it is a popular site it could be very slow at peak periods.
