Wanadoo Livebox - Loss of Connectivity

I have a wireless Livebox and have recently introduced a second laptop (previously associated with a University network) with wireless connectivity.

I have successfully used both laptops on my home network at the same time but every few days the newer laptop seems to try and take control of the network by assigning a new IP address (aquiring a lease for a 24 hour period ?) after which the network stops working and I receive messages of no connectivity on both machines. The only solution appears to switch off the Livebox and re-install the Wanadoo package on the first laptop - which is very time consuming.

Can anyone explain what is happening and how to prevent it. Wanadoo appear puzzled having sent a "rescue" disk but the problem re-occurs.
