A neighbour has just installed Wanadoo (Pay-as-you-go)on his PC. He used an insatllation CD, following the instructions, to set up his account. Everything has installed automatically, and he has received a welcome e-mail from Wanadoo. HOWEVER, he can't SEND e-mails or get any sites on Internet Explorer.

Any Ideas please?

Thanks

DD

Has he set Outlook up correctly? - If you go to the Wanadoo site and click on help there are some good guides on setting up.

Open Outlook Express > tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Servers, check that outgoing mail reads as follows: smtp.freeserve.co.uk or smtp.wanadoo.co.uk

Not sure if they are using freeserve or wanadoo for new accounts. However it will be the same as the POP3 server name except that will be a .com whilst the smtp server will be a .co.uk.

My friend is ex-directory and his telephone company does not send his caller id to Wanadoo's server. We inserted 1470 at the beginning of Wanadoo's dial up telephone number and everything worked ok

Thanks
