I can not get an un-named 1GB stick to be recognised by W98SE. It wants to install a driver I have not got as the stick was a gift without a manufacturer's name on it. I down loaded a MS mass driver for W98SE but it did not work. Any other ideas please? David

easy download a file called NUSB22E.exe and any usb device on 98SE will work is a supper USB driver that will work with any USB device no matter what only problems are 1: it only works with 98SE 2: don't download it using xp as it corrupts the file and it won't work. get it from drivergide click here u will need to create an account 2 download it though

Thanks to you BOTH, I used cream link to download NUSB22E.exe that kalignorgna suggested would work on any stick. Will let you know whether it works. Thanks for your help. David

Try installing the Unofficial Windows 98SE Service Pack first (it was a labour of love by the author):

It worked on my 98se comp with a HP 1Gb Flash Drive. Load it without the Drive Connected then reboot and plug the drive in If it will not Go use Add New Hardware Wizard in Control Panel then point it to the driver

I down loaded on my XP PC - NUSB22E.exe. I then installed the file on my W98SE PC. It loaded OK, but will still not recognise the 1GB stick. When I look at the properties of the driver it refers to it as USB 2 version. I don't know whether I have USB1 or USB2 interface on this PC or not? Any other ideas please? Thanks David

When you say Add New hard ware its looking for W98 CD not the W98SE driver. It did not want toknow about the driver - NUSB22E.exe?
Thanks David

When it asks for Driver, does it show a Path as to where it thinks the Driver should be? it did on my 98se comp, I just typed the bath in the box and it loaded and now runs on my 98se and XP computers

That when you click on "Have Disc"

I am glad it worked for you and David4637 I'm sure you will get it going.

I used the same driver, sometime ago to get my usb stick working on a friends 98se computer.
