W2K/Internet prob

Having upgraded from Win98 to W2k at the weekend
everything was fine untill this morning when i could not connect the the net via my TW broardband modem. I rebooted in safe mode with network connections and i can then connect. i have tried diabaling Zone alarm but still no go.
as i am new to W2k i think i might have changed some setting. any help would be appreiciated

What happens when you try to connect to the Internet ? Do you get any error messages ?

I got the net working by uninstallin Zone Alarm rather than just disablin
Is there a problem with W2k and the standard ZA?
Is there a seperate program for W2K or should it work ok on the standard one
