Have been nusing ME for years but needed to change because new Internet provider (Sky) does not support ME. So, I have installed 2000 Pro. I now get no sound from speakers.
have checked that speakers connected ok (tried 2 sets)and powered.
Have checked driver status in Device manager and all ok.
Have checked volume control and all are on max, nothing muted.
Have gone into control panel/sounds/audio tab and made sure pay device is the sound card SB live wave device.
Anything else I can try?

You wil need to upgrade the sound driver from ME to 2000

Do not think this is the problem as when I go through device manager to update drivers it tells me that the present drivers are ok and that the device is working correctly.

Download SIW, which will give you all the information on the motherboard

Go to the manufacturer web site and see if there is a Win2000 sound driver for your motherboard
