I want to use a non-amplified turntable to transfer some Vynil Albums onto my PC .. I realise I'll need some type of pre-Amp but was hoping there might be a piece of kit I can get that incorporates that and includes software to convert to WAV,MP3etc

Couple of options if you don't want to use the amp from your hifi.

One is it get a pre-amp (something like the Terra Rec Phono PreAmp - click here) or Audio Cleaning Lab Deluxe from Magix click here) that has software to amplify the sound from the turntable.

Biggest problem I found was that the cracks, clicks and general noise of the vynil sounds so much clearer on the digital recording that you need to consider cleaning the sound up. Thankfully Audio Cleaning and Steinberg's Clean Plus will help you get a cleaner sound.

Hope this helps you.
