Can somebody explain to me, what is Virtual Timer Device, what does it do and what is it for, because my friend has an old computer a Pentium 2 300 mhz,it was running on windows 98 then upgraded to windows me then recently he decided to reinstall windows 98 again.now hes getting this error message about VTD and He has to restart the computer ang when he does he gets the same error.

and it's probably related to the reinstallation of Windows 98. Windows is failing to load its VTD driver, and it's resulting in a stop error. I suggest that your friend formats his hard drive and starts from scratch - tell him to do a clean install of Windows 98.
