Volume- nearly non- existant

  kenneth-204108 13:57 04 Aug 04

I have done all the connections as described in my manual, but even with the volume control set at its highest, I can only just hear it when trying to listen to audio tapes.
My computer is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion.
Can anybody give me a clue as to what to do about rectifying it please?
Thanks in anticipation.

im guessing its a cd and not an audio tape i your pc. if so, go into control panel find th sound settings and navigate to the cf-rom drives sound. make sure this is up, along with all the other sounds

OOPS!! yes it was an audio cd, apologies.
I had already done what you kindly suggested, so the matter still stays open,
